Trueline's client, a well-established commercial construction contractor with a long history of delivering renovation, tenant improvement, interior build-out, and ground-up projects throughout the Gulf South, is seeking a Preconstruction Services Coordinator / Estimator to join their team in Shreveport, Louisiana. This role is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys both estimating and project coordination and wants to grow into a larger preconstruction, project management, or operations leadership role within a collaborative, family-oriented organization.
What You'll Do as the Preconstruction Services Coordinator / Estimator:
- Support preconstruction and estimating efforts from project pursuit through handoff
- Conduct site visits and gather information needed for project planning and pricing
- Assist with scope development and project budgeting
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals
- Coordinate subcontractor walkthroughs and pre-bid activities
- Complete quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial construction projects
- Prepare proposals, bid packages, and supporting documentation
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Assist with submittals, material selections, and sample coordination
- Maintain organized project records and preconstruction documentation
- Collaborate closely with project management, operations, and field teams
- Provide project support during transition from preconstruction to execution
Must-Haves as the Preconstruction Services Coordinator / Estimator:
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial construction experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and construction estimating tasks
- Understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and processes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical aptitude
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Nice-to-Haves as the Preconstruction Services Coordinator / Estimator:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Experience supporting estimating, project engineering, project coordination, or project management functions
- Background in commercial renovations, tenant improvements, framing, drywall, or interior construction
