What You'll Do as the Lead Estimator:
- Lead the full lifecycle of estimating for commercial construction projects
- Interpret and analyze drawings and specifications across all disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP, etc.)
- Generate accurate quantity take-offs and detailed estimates by CSI divisions
- Prepare bid proposals, bid leveling worksheets, and subcontractor scopes
- Manage and maintain historical cost data to support accurate projections
- Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and collaborate with design and project teams
- Build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships and solicit competitive pricing
- Ensure estimates meet internal standards and reflect current market conditions
- Coordinate a smooth handoff of awarded projects to project management
Must-Haves as the Lead Estimator:
- 5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam; experience with Sage Estimating is a plus
- Strong ability to read and interpret full construction document sets
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Track record of delivering accurate estimates under tight deadlines
Nice-to-Haves as the Lead Estimator:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field
