Trueline's client, a leading heavy civil and infrastructure contractor known for delivering complex, high-profile projects, is seeking a Building General Superintendent to join their team in New York, NY (Midtown Manhattan, onsite). This is a senior field leadership role responsible for driving execution on a major urban infrastructure project, offering strong compensation and the opportunity to lead in a highly visible, technically complex environment.
What You'll Do as the Building General Superintendent:
Lead all onsite construction operations across a large-scale, multi-phase infrastructure project
Supervise field teams, subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure safe and efficient execution
Partner with project leadership, engineers, and design teams to coordinate work and resolve field issues
Oversee scheduling, sequencing, and daily progress to keep the project on track
Enforce safety standards and lead site-wide safety initiatives and meetings
Monitor quality and ensure all work aligns with project specifications and contract requirements
Manage logistics, materials, and equipment to support ongoing construction activities
Interface with public agencies, inspectors, and community stakeholders
Maintain detailed reporting on progress, risks, and field conditions
Must-Haves as the Building General Superintendent:
15 years of construction supervision experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or transit projects
Proven experience leading large, complex, multi-stakeholder construction sites
Strong knowledge of civil, structural, and building systems
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, field coordination, and subcontractor performance
Experience working in dense urban environments with active operations
Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools
OSHA 30 certification
Strong communication and leadership skills
Nice-to-Haves as the Building General Superintendent:
Experience with transit-related projects such as terminals, stations, or bus facilities
Background in utility relocations and underground infrastructure coordination
Familiarity with environmental compliance and urban site constraints
