Trueline’s client, a well established California law firm with deep roots in real estate litigation, is seeking a Senior Real Estate Litigation Attorney to work remotely across San Diego, Riverside & San Bernardino counties. This role offers substantial autonomy, client-facing leadership, and a clear track to firm equity participation.
As a Senior Real Estate Litigation Attorney, you'll drive our litigation matters from intake through appeal, build relationships, and help grow the firm’s footprint in the real estate sector.
What You’ll Do as the Senior Real Estate Litigation Attorney:
Lead all phases of real estate litigation: case evaluation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, settlement negotiation, and appeals
Strategize and execute favorable resolutions—whether by motion or trial—for complex real estate disputes
Research, advise, and counsel on intricate real estate statutes, regulations, and transactional risk as they intersect with litigation
Draft, review, and negotiate key legal documents associated with real estate litigation (e.g. purchase agreements, easements, title disputes, boundary conflicts)
Drive business development efforts by cultivating referral sources, networking with property owners, real estate developers, brokers, and other P&C (property & casualty) stakeholders
Mentor junior attorneys or paralegals where applicable, and collaborate with colleagues on firm strategy
Must Haves as the Senior Real Estate Litigation Attorney:
Juris Doctor degree and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
Minimum 4 years of dedicated experience in real estate litigation in California
Demonstrated success in managing matters from inception to resolution (motions, trials, appeals)
Strong analytical, oral advocacy, and legal-writing skills
Ability to juggle multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and deliver high-quality client service
Independent self-starter with ambition for business development
Detail-oriented mindset and commitment to continuous professional growth
Experience working remotely, reliably, and autonomously
Willingness to spend ~75% of the time in the defined geographic market focusing on client development
Nice-to-Haves as the Senior Real Estate Litigation Attorney:
An existing book of real estate litigation business (or the ability to absorb one)
Experience in real estate–adjacent litigation (e.g. title insurance disputes, boundary, easement, land use)
Prior success in generating new business via relationships with developers, brokers, or regional attorneys
Familiarity with California title law, CEQA, real property regulation, and land?use litigation
