About the Role
The HR Partner plays a critical role in ensuring the people side of True Talent Group operates accurately, compliantly, and with consistency. This is a fractional role averaging 10–12 hours per week, ideal for an experienced HR and payroll professional who values precision, clarity, and follow-through.
While True Talent Group is based in Minnesota, this role is mostly remote, offering flexibility while still supporting a local, growing business. You’ll partner closely with leadership while operating independently—owning essential HR functions so the broader team can stay focused on clients, talent, and growth.
What You’ll Do
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, HR policies, and employment matters
- Manage the HR portion of new hire onboarding, including documentation, compliance requirements, and employee setup
- Support employee benefit enrollment for health insurance and 401(k) plans
- Run background checks for all new hires and ensure proper documentation
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations
- Generate and manage the annual 401(k) census and support ongoing administration
- Partner with benefits brokers to lead annual benefits reviews, renewals, and plan selection
- Review, update, and maintain the employee handbook and HR policies annually
What You Bring
- Experience managing payroll and core HR operations for a small to mid-sized organization
- Strong knowledge of onboarding, compliance, and HR documentation
- Experience supporting health benefits and 401(k) administration, including census generation
- Comfort partnering with benefits brokers and leading annual benefits reviews
- Ability to update and maintain employee handbooks and HR policies
- Experience running background checks and managing pre-employment requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, especially with payroll and employee data
- Clear, professional communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently in a fractional or ad hoc capacity
- Comfort operating in a growing, fast-moving environment with minimal bureaucracy
