Position: Director of Human Resources
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Pay Rate: 125-150k with bonus
Job Summary
The Director of Human Resources is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all HR functions across corporate, manufacturing, and distribution operations. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as a key member of the management team, leading HR strategy, compliance, labor relations, and talent initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and administer companywide HR policies, practices, and compliance
Manage and develop the HR team, including plant and corporate HR staff and third-party agencies
Oversee union relations, grievance resolution, and labor negotiations
Direct recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee relations at all levels
Partner on safety, workers’ compensation, OSHA compliance, and incident reporting
Lead performance management, compensation reviews, training, and development programs
Collaborate on payroll, benefits, and wage structure oversight
Qualifications
10–15 years of HR experience in manufacturing; 7 years in leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, changing environment
Physical & Travel Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Exposure to manufacturing environments; PPE may be required
Occasional travel as needed
