Human Resources Director

Position: Director of Human Resources

Location: Buffalo Grove, IL

Pay Rate: $140-155k with bonus

Job Summary

The Director of Human Resources is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all HR functions across corporate, manufacturing, and distribution operations. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as a key member of the management team, leading HR strategy, compliance, labor relations, and talent initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and administer companywide HR policies, practices, and compliance
• Manage and develop the HR team, including plant and corporate HR staff and third-party agencies
• Oversee union relations, grievance resolution, and labor negotiations
• Direct recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee relations at all levels
• Partner on safety, workers’ compensation, OSHA compliance, and incident reporting
• Lead performance management, compensation reviews, training, and development programs
• Collaborate on payroll, benefits, and wage structure oversight

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of HR experience in manufacturing; 7 years in leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume, changing environment

Physical & Travel Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
• Exposure to manufacturing environments; PPE may be required
• Occasional travel as needed
