About the Opportunity

Our client, a precision manufacturer, is seeking a Director of Quality to lead quality strategy, strengthen compliance, and drive continuous improvement. This leader will build a strong team, enhance systems, and ensure quality is integrated across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term quality strategy aligned with company growth.
• Partner with senior leadership to implement scalable systems and data-driven decision making.
• Lead major improvement initiatives that elevate performance and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee AS9100 and ISO 9001 certification, audits, and documentation.
• Support compliance needs within aerospace and defense programs including areas such as NADCAP, ITAR, and cybersecurity frameworks (CMMC).
• Integrate APQP, PPAP, FAI, FMEA, SPC, and risk-based planning across operations.
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of quality engineers and inspectors.
• Promote a culture of shared quality ownership and proactive problem solving.
• Drive a shift toward built-in quality through training, coaching, and strong leadership.
• Improve key metrics including first-pass yield, nonconformance reduction, and overall process capability.
• Implement dashboards and KPIs that connect quality performance to business outcomes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and suppliers to strengthen process stability and supply chain quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Quality, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Ten or more years of progressive quality leadership experience, including five years at a senior or director level.
• Background in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, FAI, NADCAP, and related standards.
• Proven ability to lead change, develop teams, and implement scalable systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
