Job Title: Waste Water Tech
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Waste Water Tech to support operations in a drum building inbound receiving environment. This role is responsible for offloading incoming materials, sampling materials for lab testing, operating forklifts, and assisting with the movement and consolidation of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will work well in a team environment and be committed to maintaining a safe and organized worksite.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Occasional Saturdays: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM (as needed)
Pay
- $17.95 – $18.50 per hour
Waste Water Technician Key Responsibilities
- Work in the drum building inbound receiving area offloading materials from LTL and box trucks
- Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Sample incoming materials for lab testing
- Move materials into the warehouse and assist with loading materials onto trucks for transport
- Perform non-hazardous consolidation using a forklift with a drum grabber, including transferring contents into a larger container
- Operate a drum crusher as needed
- Complete inspections of containers, verify serialization, and ensure materials remain properly segregated
- Communicate with other departments as needed to support workflow
- Assist with spill clean-up when necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work directly with a team of 5 coworkers and report to an Operations Supervisor
Waste Water Technician Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work will take place indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Building is not climate controlled (not heated or cooled)
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- May be required to wear Tyvek suits and a respirator
Training & Safety Requirements
- Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Must be able to pass a respirator fit test
- Will be sent to a 40-hour HAZWOPER class for required certification and training
Waste Water Technician Qualifications
- Forklift experience required (hazmat and non-hazmat experience preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Dependable, reliable, and able to follow instructions and safety guidelines
