Job Title: Appointment Scheduler
Location: Tulsa, OK
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Compensation: $16-$17/hour
Overview:
A fast-paced and reputable orthopedic practice is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Appointment Scheduler to join our administrative team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to multi-task in a high-volume medical setting. Prior experience in a medical office, especially in orthopedics, is highly preferred. Epic experience a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments for multiple orthopedic providers
- Confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments as needed
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information in the EMR system
- Coordinate referral information and ensure appropriate documentation is in place before appointments
- Work closely with clinical staff to ensure appropriate time slots based on visit type, provider, and procedure
- Handle a high volume of scheduling requests with professionalism and accuracy
- Provide exceptional customer service while addressing patient questions or concerns
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform other front desk and clerical tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of medical office experience preferred; orthopedic experience is a plus
- Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, Cerner)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Proficient with computers, multi-line phone systems, and office equipment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and scheduling practices
