Shop Laborer – Pipe Fabrication & Industrial Manufacturing – Must-Have Requirements
- Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, warehouse, or industrial labor preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment
- Ability to work extended hours, overtime, and mandatory weekends
- Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic required
- Ability to safely use hand tools, grinders, and basic shop equipment
- Comfortable working around heavy materials, welding operations, and fabrication equipment
- Must be able to stand, bend, climb, and work on feet for long periods
Shop Laborer – Pipe Fabrication & Industrial Manufacturing – Position Summary
A busy industrial pipe fabrication and manufacturing facility is hiring Shop Laborers for day shift operations. This role supports shop production by assisting welders, fitters, and fabrication personnel with material handling, cleanup, grinding, loading/unloading, and general labor duties.
This position is ideal for candidates looking to grow within industrial manufacturing and fabrication while working steady hours with significant overtime opportunities.
Shop Laborer – Pipe Fabrication & Industrial Manufacturing – Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist welders, pipe fitters, and shop personnel with daily production tasks
- Load, unload, move, and organize pipe, flanges, fittings, and materials
- Operate grinders, saws, and other basic shop tools safely
- Clean and maintain production areas, equipment, and workstations
- Prepare materials for fabrication, welding, and shipping
- Band, stack, and stage materials for production and delivery
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed
- Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Perform general labor duties throughout the fabrication shop
- Work overtime and weekends as required to meet production schedules
Shop Laborer – Pipe Fabrication & Industrial Manufacturing – Additional Qualifications
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus
- Experience working in pipe fabrication, steel fabrication, or welding environments preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure is helpful
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn skilled trades preferred
- Comfortable working in hot, dusty, loud, and fast-paced shop conditions
- Candidates with fabrication shop, warehouse, construction, or industrial experience are encouraged to apply
