Job Title: HR Benefits Specialist
Location: Sacramento, CA 95833
Duration: 26 Weeks
Client is looking for local candidates
Schedule: Hybrid | Day shift (8/40) | 6-month assignment | Non-exempt
Requirements:
· HS Diploma or equivalent experience
· 1 years experience in HR, benefits administration, or HR operations
· Experience with benefits eligibility, enrollment, and claims or appeals processing
· Experience working with HRIS or benefits administration systems
· Ability to interpret and apply benefits regulations, policies, and compliance requirements
· Experience reconciling billing, premiums, or vendor reports
· Experience supporting third-party administrators or benefits vendors
· Ability to manage high-volume case tracking, documentation, and issue resolution
· Proficiency in data entry, reporting, and basic calculations (percentages, deductions)
Preferred Requirements:
· Experience in healthcare or large enterprise HR environment
· Experience supporting open enrollment and life event changes
· Familiarity with wellness programs and education assistance programs
· Experience with audit processes and data validation
· Experience participating in UAT or system testing
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or reporting tools
· Experience in shared services or centralized HR operations
Summary / Duties:
· Performs transactional and administrative support for health and welfare benefits programs within an HR Shared Services or Total Rewards function.
· Determines eligibility, processes enrollments and life event changes, and supports claims review and appeals by gathering and documenting required information.
· Maintains case records and system data, ensuring accuracy prior to transmission to third-party administrators.
· Reconciles premium billing, audits vendor data, and processes invoices and reimbursements including education assistance.
· Responds to escalated employee inquiries and partners with vendors to resolve issues related to benefits, payments, and system discrepancies.
· Supports open enrollment, wellness program tracking, and year-end activities while contributing to process improvements and maintaining compliance with program guidelines.
