Transportation is a critical component of care coordination, ensuring clients have dependable access to treatment programs, medical appointments, and supportive services in compliance with applicable NEMT standards, safety requirements, and service protocols.
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and dependable drivers (CDL driver with Passenger (P) endorsement Preferred) to provide scheduled, non-emergency medical and behavioral health transportation services. This role primarily involves operating an agency-provided transit vans during weekday morning hours and must meet contractual, safety, and compliance requirements.
This position has the potential to expand into additional hours and responsibilities, including afternoon and weekend transportation using smaller passenger vehicles and busses for medical and behavioral health appointments, senior support needs, and concierge-style transportation services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, timely, and professional transportation for scheduled NEMT trips
- Operate an agency-provided vehicle during weekday initial morning routes (7:30 AM–12:30 PM)
- Transport clients to and from behavioral health programs, medical appointments, and related supportive services
- Adhere strictly to transportation schedules, routing requirements, and service protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any safety or maintenance issues
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and readiness in accordance with standards
- Ensure passenger safety, appropriate conduct, and confidentiality (HIPAA-compliant)
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and agency staff regarding delays, cancellations, or concerns
- Provide a calm, respectful, service-oriented experience for clients (including those receiving behavioral health services)
- Follow all federal, state, and local motor vehicle laws and agency policies
Required Qualifications
- CDL (Class B preferred; Class A accepted) with Passenger (P) endorsement (Preferred)
- Clean driving record and ability to pass DMV review
- Ability to pass background checks and any required screenings
- Experience driving buses or passenger transport vehicles preferred
- Strong punctuality, professionalism, and attention to safety
- Ability to interact respectfully and calmly with clients receiving behavioral health services
- Comfortable working within a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented environment

- Initial Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–12:30 PM (bus service)
