What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Practice Physician / Nurse Practitioner position at TribaLights?
Our growing behavioral health and wellness organization is seeking a compassionate, grounded, and collaborative Family Practice Physician (MD/DO) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support our clients on an on-call basis.
This role is ideal for someone with an urgent care, family medicine, community health, or integrative medicine background who enjoys helping people in recovery and values a more holistic, human-centered approach to care.
We operate a unique recovery and wellness model that integrates behavioral health, sober living support, care coordination, holistic practices, wilderness experiences, and community connection.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic medical support and oversight for clients in our behavioral health and sober living programs
- Address non-emergency urgent care–type needs
- Conduct assessments and evaluate common medical concerns
- Prescribe medications as appropriate
- Review labs, medications, and treatment recommendations
- Collaborate with clinical and case management teams
- Be available on-call for occasional client support and consultation
- Support continuity of care and referrals when needed
Ideal Background
- Family Practice, Urgent Care, Integrative Medicine, Community Health, or Addiction Medicine experience
- Comfortable working with individuals in recovery and behavioral health settings
- Open-minded, compassionate, and solutions-oriented
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Interest in holistic or whole-person wellness approaches is a plus
Qualifications
- Active New Mexico MD, DO, or NP license
- DEA license preferred
- Ability to work independently and remotely when needed
- Experience with behavioral health and/or substance use populations preferred
