Job Overview
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to join our Dover office, specializing in chemotherapy preparation within our oncology practice.
This role will work closely within our established pharmacy workflow alongside team members, supporting daily chemotherapy mixing, inventory management, and coordination with nursing and providers to ensure timely and accurate patient care.
The ideal candidate will have experience in sterile compounding, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a structured, team-based workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and mix chemotherapy and other infusion medications in accordance with physician orders
- Perform sterile compounding in compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards
- Follow established internal workflow for chemotherapy preparation, collaborating closely with pharmacy team members.
- Ensure accurate dosing, labeling, and documentation of all prepared medications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant compounding environment
- Assist with medication inventory, ordering, and storage
- Monitor drug inventory levels and communicate needs proactively
- Support daily batching, add-on treatments, and timely medication availability for infusion patients
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure efficient patient flow and treatment readiness
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required
- Experience with sterile compounding required
- Chemotherapy mixing and oncology experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800> guidelines
- Ability to work within an established workflow and team structure
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
