Job Summary
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Biller to join our hematology and oncology practice. This role is ideal for someone with billing experience in a medical setting—however, we are also open to a fast learner who is eager to grow in a specialty practice.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical oncology billing and prior authorizations or a willingness to learn quickly, along with the ability to manage billing processes accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Manage and track prior authorizations for oncology and hematology services
- Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Post payments and reconcile accounts
- Charge posting accurately
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and clinical staff
- Maintain compliance with billing regulations and payer requirements
- Work within EMR (Onco) and Practice Management system (Unlimited Financials)
Qualifications:
- Experience in medical billing preferred (oncology or specialty experience a plus)
- Understanding of billing processes as well as prior authorizations (strongly preferred)
- Entry-level candidates with strong aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Onco experience preferred but not required)
- Experience with Unlimited Financials is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
