Job Overview
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with IV experience to join our hematology and oncology infusion suite in a dual role as a Triage Nurse and Clinical Support Nurse.
This position requires a strong clinical foundation and the ability to balance high-volume phone triage responsibilities with hands-on patient care, including injections and support within the infusion suite. The ideal candidate is organized, clinically confident, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced oncology environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Triage / Phone Management:
- Serve as a primary triage nurse, managing a high volume of incoming patient calls
- Assess patient symptoms, concerns, and treatment-related side effects
- Provide appropriate clinical guidance within scope and escalate to providers as needed
- Coordinate care needs, including urgent visits, labs, and follow-up care
- Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR OncoEMR
Infusion Suite Clinical Support:
- Administer injections and support infusion nursing staff with patient care
- Assist with patient flow, rooming, and clinical preparation
- Monitor patients as directed and report changes in condition promptly
- Support safe and efficient operations within the infusion suite
Qualifications:
- Current LPN license in the state of Ohio
- IV certification and hands-on IV experience preferred
- Oncology or infusion experience strongly preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multitask and transition between phone triage and patient care seamlessly
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand clinical environment
- Experience with OncoEMR systems preferred
