About the Opportunity:
TRC is partnering with a leading engineering consultancy supporting large-scale grid modernization, renewable integration, and utility infrastructure upgrades across the Northeast.
Summary:
This role focuses on the design and execution of complex electrical power systems tied to transmission, distribution, and substation modernization efforts. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead technical design, perform system studies, and support projects that directly impact grid reliability and resiliency. You will work across multidisciplinary teams and interface with utility clients to deliver high-performance, code-compliant solutions in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design of transmission, distribution, and substation systems
- Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash)
- Develop engineering drawings and specifications
- Interface with utilities, clients, and project teams
- Support commissioning and field activities
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, and IEEE standards
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- 6 years of power systems experience
- Experience with ETAP, SKM, or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of utility standards
- PE license preferred
