Precision Agriculture Specialist – West Central Region
Tractor Central is hiring an Precision Agriculture Specialist to support our West Central Tractor Central locations.
This position reports directly to the Integrated Solutions Manager. The Integrated Solutions Specialist will provide consulting services, expertise, and training for the sale and support of solutions enabled by John Deere and other aligned technology and applications. This position ensures ongoing AMS mainstreaming and works with all dealership departments to sell and support precision farming products and services.
Travel Expectations
This is a field-based position that requires regular travel between Tractor Central locations, with a primary focus on supporting our Westby, West Salem, Granton, Mondovi and Arcadia stores, as well as other dealership locations as business needs require. A company vehicle will be provided, and the candidate will be expected to travel to dealership locations and customer sites to deliver training, technical support, consulting services, and precision agriculture solutions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the execution of Tractor Central's strategy (Machine Optimization, Logistics Optimization, and Ag Decision Support)
- Help develop and execute the plan to ensure ongoing AMS mainstreaming across all departments at Tractor Central
- Assist in leading the organization in the area of precision farming products
- Ensure understanding of precision farming products within the sales, service, and parts departments
- Serve as the internal and external technical specialist for all precision farming products
- Implement the adoption of new technology and product offerings
- Develop and deliver employee and customer training for all precision farming products
- Provide recommendations for stocking and inventory requirements to support solutions enablement
- Provide solutions-based business consulting services to customers, including recommendations to optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency
- Support dealership efforts with third-party providers (Certified Crop Advisors, Ag Service Providers, and related businesses)
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
- 1 years of experience in an agriculture-related role
- Sales, service, training, or other related work experience preferred
- Proficient knowledge of electrical and wireless communication systems
- Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
- Valid driver's license with the ability and willingness to travel regularly to dealership and customer locations
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
- Associate degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, Agriculture Mechanization, or equivalent experience required
