Tractor Central, Western Wisconsin's premier John Deere dealer, is seeking an Agricultural Service Technician to join our team.
Position Summary
As an Agricultural Service Technician, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, and prepare a variety of John Deere agricultural equipment. This includes tractors, combines, sprayers, planters, and other machinery.
Job Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
- Associate degree in Diesel Technology, Agricultural Equipment Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience repairing agricultural, heavy equipment, diesel, construction, or similar equipment in a service shop.
- Farm background or related technical education may be considered in place of direct experience.
- Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and service software is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must provide your own basic hand tools.
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a full line of John Deere agricultural equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel engine, drivetrain, and precision agriculture systems.
- Complete equipment setup and pre-delivery inspections.
- Use John Deere diagnostic software and service information to accurately identify and repair equipment issues.
- Complete work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status with service advisors and customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
