A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen safety, environmental, and compliance initiatives at its North Carolina facility.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead all environmental, health, and safety programs for a busy manufacturing facility
- Maintain a strong on-site presence across plant operations, including future evening shift expansion
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NC OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements
- Conduct hazard assessments, incident investigations, audits, and corrective actions
- Manage OSHA recordkeeping, injury reporting, workers’ compensation claims, and return-to-work processes
- Oversee environmental compliance efforts including hazardous materials handling, waste management, air quality, and chemical safety
- Maintain SDS/MSDS systems and required environmental documentation
- Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to improve plant-wide safety performance
- Serve as a visible and proactive safety leader on the manufacturing floor
- Develop and lead site safety teams and initiatives
- Support site security and emergency preparedness planning, including severe weather response
- Participate in onboarding and ensure all employee training programs align with safety and environmental requirements
- Collaborate with EHS leaders across multiple manufacturing locations to standardize policies and best practices
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Ergonomics, or related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4 years of EHS experience within manufacturing, industrial, construction, or related environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA compliance and safety program management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills across all organizational levels
- Self-directed and proactive problem solver who works well with minimal oversight
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within industrial or metal manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with cranes, forklifts, welding operations, working at heights, mechanical presses, and paint operations
- Knowledge of environmental permitting and chemical regulatory requirements
- Experience managing OSHA recordkeeping, hearing conservation programs, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work processes
- Understanding of Root Cause Analysis, Hierarchy of Controls, corrective actions, and quality documentation
- CSP or SMS certification
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or ISO 9001 auditing experience or certification
