What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Town of Gray?
The Town of Gray is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to support the Town’s financial operations and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of municipal financial records.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Staff Accountant is responsible for reconciling balance sheet accounts, responding to financial inquiries, supporting the accounts payable process, and assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. This position plays an important role in maintaining sound financial practices and supporting the delivery of services to the community.
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least three years of relevant accounting experience. Advanced training, a CPA or CPFO designation, or progress toward professional certification is preferred. Experience with governmental accounting and municipal finance is preferred.
