Position Summary
The Document Scanning Technician is responsible for converting physical documents into accurate, high quality digital files. This role involves preparing documents for scanning, operating scanning equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring proper indexing and secure handling of sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare documents for scanning by organizing and removing staples/bindings.
Operate scanning equipment and ensure accurate digital image capture.
Perform quality checks and rescan documents as needed.
Index and label digital files correctly in the document management system.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Troubleshoot minor scanner issues and perform basic equipment upkeep.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer proficiency (file management, data entry, scanners/software).
Ability to lift and handle boxes of documents (typically 20–40 lbs.).
Good organizational and time management skills.
Work Environment
Office, records center, or archive setting.
May involve standing, bending, and handling large volumes of documents
