The Data Scientist will serve as the founding member and eventual leader of the organization’s enterprise data function. This role is responsible for defining data strategy, architecting and delivering the enterprise data lake, guiding the ERP data workstream, and building a high-performing internal reporting, analytics, and data stewardship practice.
This is a hands-on leadership role that blends deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, people leadership, and strong cross-functional collaboration. The Data Scientist will work closely with IT, business leaders, and executive stakeholders to ensure data is secure, trusted, and actively driving decision-making, analytics, and AI initiatives across the enterprise.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Architecture
- Define and own the enterprise data lakehouse strategy and roadmap aligned to business and technology objectives
- Architect and deliver the enterprise data, including ingestion, transformation, modeling, and consumption layers
- Establish scalable, modern data patterns and platforms to support analytics, reporting, and advanced use cases
ERP Data Leadership
- Serve as the data lead for ERP selection, implementation, and ongoing optimization
- Design and govern ERP data models, integrations, and data quality standards
- Partner with functional leaders to ensure ERP data enables operational and analytical needs
Advanced Analytics, ML, & Insights
- Lead advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives, from exploration through production
- Identify opportunities to apply predictive analytics, optimization, and AI to drive measurable business value
- Ensure models are explainable, governed, and aligned with business outcomes
Governance, Security, & Compliance
- Establish data governance frameworks covering data quality, lineage, access, and stewardship
- Ensure data platforms and practices meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with IT security and compliance teams to manage risk
- Establish best practices for development, testing, documentation, and knowledge sharing
AI Strategy Partner
- Act as a key thought partner on enterprise AI strategy and execution
- Evaluate, pilot, and scale AI and data-driven use cases in collaboration with business and technology leaders
- Ensure AI initiatives are grounded in strong data foundations and responsible practices
