Job Overview
Total Tech, LLC is hiring a Technology Installation & Support Technician to join our field team based in Etowah, NC. This position focuses on installing, configuring, and supporting residential and small-business technology systems including audio/video equipment, home networking, smart home devices, and general IT solutions.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, troubleshooting in real environments, and working directly with clients. You'll play a key role in delivering reliable, easy-to-use technology systems while representing Total Tech professionally on every job site.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and support audio and video systems such as TVs, sound systems, and home entertainment setups
- Configure and troubleshoot WiFi networks, routers, access points, and connected devices
- Run, terminate, label, and organize cabling for clean and dependable installations
- Install and integrate smart home technology, including automation devices and connected controls
- Assist with IT-related tasks such as computer setup, home offices, printers, and peripherals
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues during on-site service visits
- Use hand and power tools to mount equipment and complete installations safely
- Provide clear explanations to clients on how to use their systems
- Document work completed, system configurations, and service notes accurately
Experience & Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in technology installation, AV systems, networking, or IT support
- Comfortable working with cabling, mounted equipment, and networking hardware
- Ability to follow technical instructions, diagrams, and installation guides
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in tight spaces
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
- Experience with smart home platforms or connected devices
- Basic computer and network troubleshooting knowledge
- Prior residential or field service experience
- Technical certifications are a plus, but not required
