Feed Mill Floater

Every week, our team produces approximately 8,000 tons of feed to support more than one million hogs each year. As a Feed Mill Operations Floater, you'll play an important role in helping every area of the feed mill operate safely and efficiently. Schedule

Day Shift
5:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (10-hour shifts)

Monday through Friday

This position primarily works a Monday through Friday day shift. Because this role supports multiple areas of the feed mill, work schedules may occasionally vary to help cover vacations, training, or other operational needs. Flexibility is important for success in this position.

What You'll Do

• Provide support wherever needed throughout the feed mill.

• Train and work in multiple feed mill positions, including Feed Mill Operator, Bulk Operator, Assistant Operator, and Feed Mill Crew.

• Operate equipment used to mix, grind, pellet, cool, load, and prepare livestock feed.

• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving ingredients and finished feed.

• Safely operate forklifts, yard trucks (yard dogs), and other equipment as assigned.

• Help maintain production flow while ensuring quality standards are met.

• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

• Maintain accurate production records and required documentation.

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.

• Follow all company safety, biosecurity, food safety, and operating procedures.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Willingness to learn multiple jobs throughout the feed mill.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work assignments.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to work overtime and occasional schedule changes when business needs require.

• Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, feed production, grain handling, or industrial operations is preferred.

• Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment is preferred.

• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.

No feed mill experience? No problem. We provide on-the-job training for dependable individuals who are eager to learn and grow.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements (Essential Functions)

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently.

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb stairs and ladders.

• Safely operate forklifts, yard trucks, and other industrial equipment.

• Frequently use hands and arms for repetitive tasks.

• Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, including heat and cold.

• Work in dusty environments and around moving mechanical equipment.

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Safely enter and exit equipment and work platforms.
