About the Role
Ace Hardware is seeking an Internal Auditor to support financial and operational audit activities across corporate departments, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, subsidiaries, and business operations. This role plays an important part in evaluating risk management practices, strengthening internal controls, and supporting governance initiatives throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about identifying opportunities to improve processes, mitigate risks, and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Audit & Risk Assessment
- Participate in financial and operational audit engagements.
- Evaluate internal controls, business processes, and risk management practices.
- Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with risk assessments and audit planning activities.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare audit documentation, findings, and reports.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and risks.
- Present audit observations and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
Compliance & Governance
- Evaluate compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
- Support governance and internal control initiatives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing controls and processes.
- Assist with audit follow-up activities and issue resolution.
Collaboration & Business Partnership
- Build strong relationships with business partners and operational teams.
- Collaborate with management to understand business risks and objectives.
- Provide timely project updates and audit status reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Internal Audit, Accounting, Finance, or Business Operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience evaluating financial and operational controls.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, distribution, or retail operations.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Experience utilizing data analytics tools.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA.
- MBA or other advanced business degree.
- Experience developing risk-based audit reports and recommendations.
Compensation
Salary Range: $66,000 – $82,600 per year
Compensation is based on qualifications, experience, and business needs.
