Duties
- Provide friendly, professional assistance to customers, answering questions about products, effects, and usage.
- Conduct product demonstrations and educate customers on new or featured items to encourage upselling opportunities.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions efficiently while handling cash and card payments with precision.
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure all products are stocked, rotated, and presented appealingly.
- Manage inventory levels by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and assisting with inventory management procedures.
- Uphold compliance with all legal regulations regarding age restrictions, product labeling, and sales limits.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or follow-up calls from customers or vendors.
- Assist with product demos to showcase new items and educate customers on their benefits and usage.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming retail environment that aligns with brand standards and safety protocols.
- Support team members through supervising experience when needed, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that promotes growth.
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in a grocery store or similar customer-focused environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage bilingual customers effectively.
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, cash handling, and retail math to ensure accurate transactions.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining compliance with legal regulations.
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a retail setting.
- Basic math skills for daily operations including balancing cash drawers and calculating discounts or totals.
- Familiarity with product demos and promotional activities to boost sales initiatives.
