Summary
The HR Director will be responsible for employee relations, compliance, labour management, recruiting, training, and HR systems, with limited administrative support.
Key Activities
- Model and promote a servant leadership philosophy.
- Build trust with frontline employees, supervisors, and leadership teams.
- Foster an adaptable HR function supporting operational needs.
- Drive engagement, retention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Handle employee relations, investigations, discipline, and terminations.
- Coach supervisors on effective people leadership and documentation.
- Promote a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Manage audits, inquiries, and regulatory reporting.
- Work with the Safety Director on workers’ compensation and ensuring employee safety
- Handle unemployment, DOL inquiries, FMLA/NE leave notices, and programs.
- Lead recruiting and hiring for hourly and salaried roles.
- Develop onboarding, training, and retention programs.
- Partner with operations on workforce planning.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs.
- Oversee HRIS and personnel records.
- Develop HR policies and handbook updates.
Preferred Skills
- SHRM or PHR/SPHR certification.
- Experience in manufacturing environments in a Director role
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desired.
Educations & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7–12 years of HR leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
