Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and communicate findings clearly to customers
- Prepare accurate service estimates using estimating software and explain repair options in detail
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission services
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, ensuring timely completion of services
- Maintain detailed records of all customer interactions, repairs performed, and parts used
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle status updates and additional recommendations
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating systems to assess repair needs
Skills
- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or Service Writer in a dealership or auto repair environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brakes, shocks & struts, diesel engines, and collision repair processes
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Experience with auto service management systems and auto estimating procedures
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics techniques for various repairs including oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, suspension work, etc.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
