We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shop Foreman/Lead Technician to oversee daily operations within our service and repair facility. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the service team, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks
- Diagnose complex mechanical issues across a wide range of equipment including excavators, cranes, tractors, trucks, and industrial machinery
- Oversee repairs involving transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspensions, electrical systems, welding, and other mechanical components
- Review schematics and technical manuals to accurately troubleshoot and repair equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, quality control procedures, and environmental regulations
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inventory logs to track repairs and parts usage
- Mentor technicians on best practices in automotive diagnostics, heavy equipment operation, welding techniques, and equipment maintenance
Skills
- Proven experience working in dealership environments or heavy equipment service centers with strong mechanical knowledge
- Expertise in fabricating repairs using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques
- Extensive knowledge of excavator operation, crane mechanics, forklift servicing, tractor-trailer systems, and farm machinery repair
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, suspension components, and vehicle systems
- Skilled in automotive electrical system repair as well as diesel engine diagnostics and repair for trucks and heavy machinery
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, brake repair, wheel alignment, powertrain work, and vehicle system troubleshooting
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing hands-on repairs in a fast-paced environment
