Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Service Superintendent to lead the service department’s field operations while ensuring roofing service projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Position Overview
The Service Superintendent will oversee daily commercial roofing service operations, manage service crews, and ensure service projects are executed efficiently while maintaining strong customer relationships.This role acts as the bridge between the field and the office, coordinating crews, schedules, materials, and service requests while maintaining accountability for quality, safety, and department performance.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong commercial roofing service experience, capable of diagnosing roofing issues, leading technicians in the field, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, train, and support commercial roofing service technicians to ensure productivity, accountability, and high-quality workmanship
- Provide roving field supervision, offering hands-on technical guidance and quality control across multiple service jobs
- Enforce safety compliance, conduct safety trainings, and uphold OSHA standards across all service operations
- Maintain strong client relationships by providing clear communication and ensuring a positive service experience
- Manage service trucks, tools, materials, and equipment including inventory tracking and maintenance
- Perform roof inspections and field assessments for both existing clients and new service opportunities
- Diagnose roofing issues, leaks, and system failures while developing appropriate repair solutions
- Estimate service work and prepare repair proposals for clients
- Oversee service work orders from intake through completion, including scheduling, logistics, and execution
- Track labor productivity, job costing, and service department profitability
Qualifications
- Strong background in commercial roofing service, repair, and maintenance
- Proven experience leading field crews and managing service operations
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and ability to diagnose roof leaks, failures, and repair solutions
- Ability to perform roof inspections and field assessments
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing multiple service jobs and shifting priorities
- Understanding of job costing, labor tracking, and service department profitability
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance
- Comfortable interacting directly with customers and preparing service estimates
- Proficiency with service management software, mobile field applications, and Microsoft Office
- Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and capable of making sound decisions in the field
