Role Summary:
The Project Executive will oversee multiple structural steel fabrication projects while managing and mentoring Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle. This individual will play a key leadership role within the organization, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience specifically within structural steel fabrication and a strong background supporting heavy industrial and manufacturing projects. This person must be proactive in identifying and preventing problems before they arise while also possessing the ability to independently resolve project challenges without constant involvement from upper management. This role is best suited for a hands-on leader who thrives in a smaller company environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats across operations, client management, and project execution.

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees and mentors Project Managers across multiple structural steel fabrication projects
- Manages projects from award through fabrication, delivery, erection coordination, and closeout
- Reviews contract documents, scope of work, and project requirements for completeness
- Develops and oversees project schedules, budgets, manpower planning, and execution strategies
- Coordinates with internal teams including detailing, engineering, procurement, fabrication, coatings, and logistics
- Maintains strong client relationships and serves as a high-level point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Proactively identifies project risks and develops mitigation strategies before issues escalate
- Handles escalated project issues independently and implements solutions with minimal upper management involvement
- Manages RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Supports operational workflow improvements and cross-functional collaboration within a smaller company environment
- Tracks project financial performance, forecasting, billing, and earned value metrics
- Ensures adherence to quality, safety, and contractual requirements
- Supports team development, accountability, and overall project execution standards
Qualifications / Requirements:
- 12–18 years of experience within structural steel fabrication project management or operations leadership
- Direct experience overseeing or managing Project Managers and project teams
- Strong background in structural steel fabrication for heavy industrial and manufacturing projects
- Experience managing change orders, submittals, RFIs, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, shop workflow, and project lifecycle
- Ability to independently solve problems and make decisions in fast-paced environments
- Experience with Tekla, FabSuite, and Bluebeam
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while wearing multiple hats within a smaller company structure
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent industry experience
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
