Position: Plumbing Project Manager / Estimator

Location: San Jose, CA

Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000

Tiello has partnered with a respected mechanical contractor in the Bay Area specializing in commercial plumbing systems across complex construction projects. As the company continues to grow, they are seeking a highly motivated Plumbing Project Manager / Estimator to support both preconstruction and project execution efforts.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both the operational and estimating side of commercial plumbing projects and enjoys being involved from bid through closeout.

Position Overview

The Plumbing Project Manager / Estimator will be responsible for estimating plumbing projects, managing awarded work, and supporting successful execution from preconstruction through completion. This individual will work closely with field teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical plumbing knowledge, estimating experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimate commercial plumbing projects including labor, material, and equipment costs
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate project estimates
• Manage plumbing projects from kickoff through closeout
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients throughout project execution
• Track project budgets, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Assist with procurement and material coordination
• Support preconstruction planning and project turnover meetings
• Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business opportunities
• Monitor project performance and support financial forecasting

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in commercial plumbing project management and/or estimating
• Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems and construction practices
• Experience estimating plumbing projects within commercial or industrial environments
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Skills

• Design-build project experience
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, AutoBid, or similar construction software
• Experience working on healthcare, commercial, or industrial projects
• Field plumbing background a plus
• Strong knowledge of California plumbing codes and construction practices

Physical & Work Environment Expectations

• Combination of office and project site environments
• Occasional travel to local job sites throughout the Bay Area
• Ability to manage fast-paced project schedules and multiple priorities
• Strong collaboration with office, field, and client teams
