Job Title: General Superintendent (Commercial Masonry Construction)

Location: Birmingham, AL

Compensation: $130,000 - $135,000/year

Company Overview:

Tiello has partnered with a well-established, high-growth commercial masonry contractor with a strong presence across the Southeast. This organization is known for delivering complex, large-scale masonry scopes on prominent commercial projects and offers a stable pipeline of work, long-term career growth, and a strong field-first culture. They are seeking a Superintendent to support ongoing and upcoming projects in the Charleston area.

Role Summary:

The General Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing field operations for commercial masonry projects from preconstruction through completion. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep masonry knowledge, strong crew management skills, and the ability to coordinate closely with project management, safety, and subcontractor teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

Project Type:

Commercial Masonry Projects - Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Historical, etc. ($5M-$30M)

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day field operations for commercial masonry projects.
• Manage and coordinate masonry crews, foremen, and superintendents.
• Plan and execute project schedules, sequencing, and manpower loading.
• Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers on budgets, schedules, and scope execution.
• Conduct site meetings, progress updates, and coordination with other trades.
• Monitor quality control and ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Identify and proactively resolve field issues to maintain productivity and schedule.
• Mentor and develop field leadership, including foremen and assistant superintendents.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of field leadership experience in commercial masonry construction.
• Strong knowledge of masonry means, methods, sequencing, and production.
• Proven experience leading large crews and managing multiple scopes simultaneously.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel within the Central Florida region as needed.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.
