Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to determine functional limitations and develop tailored treatment plans aligned with clinical standards.
- Implement evidence-based physiotherapy interventions such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and therapeutic exercises to promote recovery.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists—to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless patient management.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems accurately to document treatment progress, discharge planning details, and compliance with clinical documentation standards.
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, home exercise programs, and community resources to support ongoing care outside clinical settings.
- Assist in discharge planning by evaluating patient progress and recommending appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and current physiotherapy practices to deliver high-quality care across outpatient, inpatient, home health, and outpatient rehabilitation centers.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience practicing in a physical therapy role within acute care, outpatient clinics, inpatient hospital settings, or home health environments.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, pediatrics, and related medical fields.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective treatment plans for diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation standards and managing EMR/EHR systems efficiently.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to motivate patients through personalized care plans.
- Experience working with care plans that include discharge planning and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of outpatient rehabilitation techniques such as trigger point therapy and physiotherapy modalities.
