- Provide nutrition counseling and health coaching to motivate clients toward healthier lifestyles and weight management objectives.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, and therapists to coordinate patient care and ensure consistency in treatment strategies.
- Manage medical nutrition therapy (MNT), including specialized interventions like tube feeding and nutrition support for patients with complex needs.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems for seamless communication and compliance.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or interns in dietary department procedures while maintaining high standards of clinical nutrition practice.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and disease processes affecting nutritional status.
- Proven experience in clinical nutrition, including working with individuals with specific dietary needs such as tube feeding or chronic disease management.
- Strong skills in motivational interviewing and nutrition counseling to effectively engage clients and foster positive behavioral changes.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff or interns within a dietary or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation, patient tracking, and care coordination.
- Experience working in hospital environments or long-term care facilities with a focus on geriatrics and acute care scenarios.
- Familiarity with dietary department operations, medical nutrition therapy (MNT), weight loss programs, and patient assessment techniques.
