About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading pharmaceutical organisation to appoint a Vice President of Engineering. This executive role will shape engineering strategy and lead large-scale teams supporting enterprise technology and digital transformation initiatives within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Lead and develop high-performing, geographically dispersed engineering teams.
- Drive excellence across software engineering, architecture, DevOps, and platform delivery.
- Champion modernisation initiatives including cloud adoption, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across technology and business functions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee budgets, resource planning, vendor relationships, and delivery performance.
- Ensure engineering practices meet security, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
- Significant leadership experience as a VP, Senior Director, or Head of Engineering within a large enterprise.
- Proven success leading engineering transformation and managing sizeable delivery organisations.
- Strong knowledge of modern engineering practices and cloud technologies.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of GxP and life sciences regulatory environments.
- Exposure to technology supporting R&D, manufacturing, or commercial operations.
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline; MBA advantageous.
