The Manager in Training will shadow and assist their assigned manager with various day-to-day operations of their location, managing product distribution, storage, sales, and enhancing customer relationships. Also, this position will work closely with the management team and the customer service representatives to ensure superior customer service through on-time deliveries while maintaining, and continually improving the operational efficiency of all truck/driver combinations.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist manager with the branch staff: interviewing, hiring, directing activities, coaching, training, appraising, performance, and disciplining.
- Help in managing all aspects of the location’s profit and expense activity: sales, inventory, fleet, staffing and maintaining customer base.
- Assist manager in providing oversight for all customer contact: implementing standard customer service procedures.
- Assist per branch manager in maintaining the vehicle fleet by coordinating the preventative maintenance of vehicles, repairs, and licensing.
- Ability to analyze customer accounts regarding methods of delivery scheduling and make changes to promote delivery efficiency on a daily basis.
- Proactive daily involvement in all Branch purchasing and expenditures
- Support manager to ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly work processes and reporting are done accurately, timely, and error-free.
- Work closely with management to reduce/eliminate OT and work within the Branch budgeted for personnel and vehicle expense.
- Partner with management to monitor and streamline processes to reduce delivery costs, while increasing delivery efficiency, quality and all key metrics.
- Manage order prioritization to improve/maximize customer service with a focus on high priority/high quality customers.
- Design and execute service processes including, but not limited to, preparing work orders, requisition of parts and instruments, repairs and service work, dispatch activities.
- Oversee compliance regarding cash control, inventory management, documentation requirements, and audit procedures.
- Assist manager to ensure all safety meetings are completed in a timely manner.
- Help with reviewing and managing vehicle, employee and DOT compliance to prevent out of compliance issues.
- Work within Cargas Energy to review all deliveries for potential increases in delivery metrics.
- Shadow in completing performance reviews for each branch employee.
- Assist in approving weekly timesheets for hourly employees at the branch.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma required, college degree preferred
- Three (3) or more years operational experience, propane industry a plus
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills
- Analytical skills to assess and drive improvement in productivity metrics.
- Ability to provide leadership through coaching and mentoring with a focus on customer service
- Strong people management and logistics/routing experience
- Must have a working knowledge of DOT safety requirements
- Class A or B CDL preferred
- Tank and Hazardous Materials endorsements preferred

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
