1988 Mainframe Operator
Position Overview:
Serves as an entry-level incident coordinator for high-priority technology-related events and disruptions. Responsible for logging, prioritizing, escalating, and tracking IT incidents to ensure timely resolution. Requires strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, end users, and third-party partners.
Utilizes monitoring tools and dashboards to oversee system availability, network connectivity, and overall infrastructure health. Supports mainframe operations by monitoring system consoles and performing routine checks on performance. May assist with reviewing and validating job control processes as needed.
Responsible for completing assigned tasks and deliveries, including occasional physical handling of equipment (up to 50 lbs). This role is fully onsite and does not offer remote work. Candidates must be flexible to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overnight hours.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT operations or mainframe support
Technical Environment:
- Enterprise collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams 5 years)
- Network and infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., WhatsUp Gold, Pingdom, PRTG, or similar solutions)
- Large-scale enterprise computing systems, including IBM mainframe environments
