Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Houseman to oversee the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of our hotel. This pivotal role involves supervising custodial staff, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and supporting the overall hospitality experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, team management skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Lead and supervise custodial staff to ensure all areas of the restaurant are spotless, sanitized, and well-maintained
- Coordinate cleaning schedules for dining areas, kitchens, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces in accordance with health regulations
- Oversee industrial cleaning tasks such as floor care, and equipment sanitation
- Manage janitorial supplies inventory and ensure proper storage and usage of cleaning materials
- Enforce safety regulations related to cleaning procedures to protect staff and guests
- Conduct regular inspections to uphold sanitation standards and address any maintenance issues promptly
- Support team members with training on cleaning & sanitation management best practices
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial roles within hospitality or industrial settings
- Strong staff supervision and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication skills for effective managerial interaction and customer service
- Knowledge of safety regulations and sanitation protocols specific to commercial kitchens and hospitality environments
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team under pressure
- Familiarity with laundry operations and hotel housekeeping management is a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
