The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highway Maintenance, District 2, has a full-time vacancy for a Warehouse Supervisor
SUMMARY : To administer the ordering, receipt, storage, control, distribution, and repairs of specialized merchandise, consumable goods, and highway maintenance materials and equipment in a centralized or satellite warehouse for a Highway Maintenance District.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS : Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in business administration or accounting. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one (1) year of required work experience.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in receiving, storing and issuing a large variety of stores and maintaining computerized control records, two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one (1) year of required formal education.
License/Certification : Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license. The applicant’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS : Applicant must have a thorough working knowledge of computer database management, software solutions, automated data collection, word processing, spreadsheet, and Windows applications. Applicant must have a thorough working knowledge of small equipment repair and maintenance.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to climb ladders and steps to access equipment controls and above-ground work locations.
- Must be able to don all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for work tasks.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be available to work extended hours during transportation events and/or emergencies as needed.
- Must be available for call-back duty and respond immediately as needed on a 24/7 basis, throughout the entire year.
- All accountabilities and requirements must be performed in accordance with State and Department rules and policies, including risk management, safety, and environmental standards, regulations, and administrative orders.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Supervises the inventory for, and maintains an adequate supply of, all specialized merchandise and consumable goods, including personal protective equipment (PPE), hardware items, and highway maintenance materials, equipment, and supplies in conformance with the Consumable Inventory Management System (CIMS) and the Maintenance Activity Tracking System (MATS).
Manages the ordering, delivery, inspection, and inventory of the District’s winter maintenance materials, including de-icing salt, sand, and calcium chloride, and approves invoices for payment.
Develops specifications and prepares requisitions and orders for specialized equipment, including plows, highway machinery and attachments, power tools, and hand tools.
Directs the tracking, ordering, receipt, and distribution of pool equipment, tools, and supplies for use throughout the District.
Answers routine inquiries and resolves problems with agencies, suppliers, vendors, contractors, and shippers regarding product information, availability, and ordering procedures to ensure receipt of specified products.
Manages the registration, inventory, and surplus of all District-owned facilities and equipment, and coordinates inventory records with other bureaus or agencies as needed.
Schedules and performs preventive and routine maintenance of pool equipment, and warehouse vehicles, equipment, and buildings to assure they are in a safe, reliable condition.
Receives and inspects materials, equipment, and supplies that have been ordered, and approves invoices for payment.
