The Staff Pad has partnered with a law office in Austin, TX to hire a Legal Staff Manager.
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Legal Staff Manager to lead, mentor, and support the firm’s legal support team. This hybrid role blends people leadership, operational oversight, and workflow management to ensure the department delivers exceptional client service and supports optimal case outcomes. The ideal candidate is a strong, proactive leader who excels at managing people, processes, and resources to drive efficiency, quality, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise legal staff assignments, workload distribution, and daily performance.
Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide coaching and mentorship.
Oversee onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development.
Serve as a resource and role model, fostering growth and engagement.
Operational Management
Develop and maintain standardized procedures for legal support operations.
Partner with firm leadership on staffing needs, resource planning, and case support strategies.
Ensure compliance with deadlines, court rules, filings, and internal protocols.
Track performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership.
Process & Technology Oversight
Evaluate workflows and implement improvements for efficiency and quality.
Manage legal technology and case management platforms to optimize team productivity.
Collaborate with IT, HR, and Operations to ensure staff have necessary tools and resources.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; Paralegal Certificate a plus.
3 years in a supervisory or management role within a legal environment.
Experience overseeing paralegals, legal assistants, or similar legal support staff.
Strong background in workflow design, process improvement, and team management.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with legal technology platforms and case management systems.
