The Skagit Table in Mount Vernon, WA is looking for one back of house (BOH) to join our team. We are located on 225 S 1st Street. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Back-of-House Staff
Job Duties: As a Back-of-House Staff, you will be responsible for assisting with cooking, assembly, and delivery of dishes and banquets for weddings, and private parties in accordance with the event schedule. Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards in a calm, professional manner:
- Prep for events
- Communicate ingredients to front-of-house
- Assist back-of-house lead with any projects in a timely manner
- Ensure food is cooked to appropriate temperature and held at correct temp
- Serve food and execute BEO (Banquet Event Order) with direction from your lead
- Package up leftovers correctly
- Make sure kitchen is closed up at end of events
- Assist back-of-house lead with other back-of-house work duties assigned
Time Commitment: The Back-of-House Staff is a part-time position and you will be scheduled based on booking. The primary event season is from the beginning of April to the middle of November. Is it expected that you will be available for additional events as they book, with the exception of pre-planned time off. Schedule may be flexible pending shift coverage.

Physical Requirements:
- Long periods standing/walking;
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.;
- Ability to crouch, kneel, bend, or reach overhead and below the waist;
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle.

- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Current and valid driver license and a reliable vehicle
- Ability to work on a team with multiple kitchen employees
- Ability to work in a restaurant or catering setting
