Position Summary
The Bar Lead is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing bar operations, while also actively participating in bartending duties. Reporting directly to The Beach Club General Manager, this role is pivotal in upholding our Forbes Four-Star service standards and fostering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operations of the bar service.
Actively work bartending shifts, leading by example in service, presentation, and professionalism.
Ensure all guest interactions and service touchpoints meet or exceed Forbes Four-Star standards.
Train and mentor bartenders and support staff in Forbes-compliant service, drink knowledge, and etiquette.
Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and assist with ordering and receiving.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and poolside areas in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
Oversee all cash handling, POS usage, and accurate end-of-day reporting.
Assist with cocktail menu development, seasonal drink specials, and presentation standards.
Address and resolve guest concerns or service issues professionally and promptly.
Collaborate with GM on scheduling, service improvements, and guest experience enhancements.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a luxury or upscale hospitality environment.
Previous supervisory or team lead experience in food & beverage preferred.
Proven ability to lead and inspire a team while maintaining hands-on service responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and cocktail preparation and presentation.
Excellent communication, organizational, and guest service skills.
Experience with or strong understanding of luxury service standards.
Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred, or willingness to obtain upon hire, The Sea Pines Resort will pay for this certrification.
