Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of related experience in commercial, facility interior/exterior painting.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Florida commercial driver’s license (CDL):
- Class B;
- Air brakes endorsement.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills; mathematical skills.
- Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
- Ability to mix and match colors and textures.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to comply with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements.

Responsibilities
- Prepare/clean a variety of surfaces by pressure washing and/or wet/sand blasting for painting, waterproofing, and/or sealing for paint preparation.
- Perform highly skilled finishing work involving delicate color/texture matching, hand mixing, and spray finishing.
- Assess, design, and lay out striping for parking lots, tracks, gym floors, outdoor courts, and shop equipment.
- Perform emergency/vandalism repair.
- Operate and use a variety of industrial/commercial/vehicle equipment for painting and/or finishing.
- Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Utilize basic District computer applications for communication, training, and record keeping.
- Assist in the instruction of personnel on specific tasks when required.
- Register with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Maintain driver and CDL licensure and required endorsements.
