Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience and proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida certification in the area of responsibility for academic courses.
- Teaching experience in an adult education learning environment.
- Bilingual/biliterate in a minimum of one target language such as Spanish, French, Creole, Portuguese, or other language.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local statutes, laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and current research-based best practices governing the functional area of assignment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
- Knowledge of WDIS reporting and FLDOE accountability systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with adult learners.
- Ability to provide individualized support and adapt instruction based on student needs.
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a timely and professional manner.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes nights.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with FLDOE curriculum frameworks for ABE, GED®, or ESOL.
- Guide students in goal setting, career planning, and transitions to postsecondary education, training, or employment.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, progress, assessments, and data required for the Workforce Development Information System (WDIS).
- Integrate employability skills, industry standards, and real-world applications into instruction.
- Provide for the safety and general welfare of the students.
- Communicate regularly with students, staff, and administrators regarding student progress and instructional needs
- Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to district, state and federal education regulations and policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
