Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Flexibility to work on short notice on various shifts and in various locations.
- Valid Florida driver license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous custodian or janitorial experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.
- Knowledge of MDSS (Material Data Safety Sheets) and ability to follow applicable safety procedures and handling instructions.
- Ability to work with equipment and chemicals commonly used in custodial work.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and offices.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles and recycling containers.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Secure buildings by locking doors and windows, and ensuring alarms are set, as required.
- Report maintenance issues, vandalism, or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
- Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events, meetings, or classroom needs.
- Pick up trash and debris from walkways, entrances and grounds as assigned.
- Adhere to district safety procedures and guidelines for cleaning products and equipment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
