Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Manage, maintain, and organize all tooling, fixtures, gauges, and equipment within the tool room.
- Supervise and train tool room personnel, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures within the tool room environment.
- Develop and manage inventory of spare parts and consumables for tooling, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Coordinate with production and engineering departments to address tooling needs and resolve issues.
- Maintain records of tool maintenance, repair, and calibration schedules.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the tool room.
- Proven experience in a tool room environment, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of tool maintenance, repair, and calibration procedures.
- Experience with CNC machining and conventional machining equipment.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage a team.
- Knowledge of inventory management and control systems for tooling.
- - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- - Certification in inventory management or supply chain logistics.
