Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders) to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Set up CNC machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and adjusting offsets.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure quality and adherence to tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Adjust machine parameters (feeds, speeds, depth of cut) to optimize production and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms or operational issues.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges).
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and material properties.
- Experience with in-process quality inspection and maintaining tight tolerances.
- Advanced proficiency with CAD/CAM software for program optimization or fixture design
- Experience operating CMMs or other advanced metrology equipment
- Demonstrated experience in preventative maintenance or minor machine troubleshooting
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
